My grandad was the best in the world,

In the morning his hair was always curled.

He was a jolly man, who loved his family,

He lived in the country happily.

He taught us both how to weed,

And taught me how to read.

He loved us all,

And helped us if we’d fall.

He was full or surprises and treats,

And bought us nice and sticky sweets.

His knowledge was incredible,

Taught me that writing is always edible.

He gave me my confidence to write now here I am,

Getting good marks in my exams.

An author a writer that’s what I want to be,

All I ask is Grandad are you proud of me?
