Title: Wet Letter Day

Here I am on this wet letter day.
The ink has all run. I wonder what did it say?
She left me last week. Does she want me back?.
Or was she finalising with some 'up yours' wise-crack.

Here I am on this wet letter day.
The envelope’s had it. The papers pulped grey.
Is her heart broken? Does she need me around?
Or was she boasting about a new hunk she’s found?

Here I am trying to read her wet letter
A text or email would have been so much better!
Does she want to call and collect her gear?
Or does she want to move back in here?

Here I am on this wet letter day.
My heads in a spin. What does that give away?
Do I miss her? I thought I was mended.
But a wet letter is just so open-ended!
