The Battle
This isn't a war
Yet I still need to fight
These words hold my feelings
That's why they don't read right
My heart is the battlefield
These words my ammunition
Though I can't find the right ones
Amongst all this confusion
I try to come out shooting
I don't want to come off worse
There's no healing for my wounds
I have to live by this curse
I put up my defences
Awaiting your attack
You'll try to break them down
The moment I turn my back
Although I know I stand to lose
It's all I'm able to do
Although I know I'm being used
I still want to surrender to you
