Title: Have You Seen Where The River Forks?

I sat there, stick in hand
Turning pebbles
Over and over
I sat and sat
And sat still more
Watching the tiny currents
Change their course
Between my ovoid decisions

I sat between water current and water current
As the rain
Rained and rained
And rained
And stones and silt
Shored up against my back
As I turned and turned
To care and not to care

I sat so still between the two ways
The way of the will
And the way
Of no more will
Holding the moment
Against the hollow of my ribs
But time will always only be time
And the deluge always comes.
