Title: R. I. P.

I'll keep out of sight
won't give him a sign,
I'm here for his marriage
this man was once mine.
He smiles at his bride
as he once smiled at me,
her love for him evident
for all there to see.
When I said I must leave
he cried many tears.
Sam, had been my whole life
for fourteen short years.
Once we chased through meadows
flying kites - oh so high,
wrote our names in the sand
counted stars in the sky.
Now they're walking towards me.
Yes! I will give a sign.
My perfume envelops them
he'll know it was mine.
At last he's found happiness
I can have my release.
It's ten years since I passed on,
I'll now rest in peace.
