 Title:
						Unarmed

Not usually one to monkey aroundI count blessings, when they’re there to be found
but I have to say such “excellent news”
left me feeling “sick to the pit”, not astounded.

A front page horror so grotesque and grim
A helpless monkey, the innocent victim
The pain and the terror so plain in his eyes
As he wills his false arm to feed him.

Caged and hungry he haplessly grasps
As his human tormentors take “we did it” snaps
But we are not shown his own limb being amputated
so our superior “right” does not stand debated.
