Title: Affair Of The Heart

If I could find the right words to say,
I'd tenderly ask you to leave me today
And not to look back as you walk away.
Love isn't something you hold so tight,
It's supposed to be free, easy and light.
Not cause you pain in the dark of the night.
I'd ask you not to look back and see,
That the words I speak, are deceiving me.
The pain in my heart would swell up I know,
But my kindest act would be letting you go.

I fell into your life and broke your stride,
The impact I made, you just couldn't hide.
But lies and deceit are eating at you,
Something I struggle to watch you go through.
A snatched coffee here, a quick kiss there,
Not enough hours, even minutes to spare.
Then off you go back home to your wife
Leaving me alone, to take stock of my life.
So now it will end, just as it began
With hope in our hearts, that we'll meet again
