Title: Oh Blighty

i hereby declare that
i’m becoming
a pastiche of all those
erstwhile
lovely
bigots
who’ve embodied our mindset
with the
basest
possible humour

i deplore these smells of
detritus
rotting in the heat
i want cake
and proper teabags
not these blasted things
with weedy strings
and paper tabs
poultry butchered sanely
not demolished with a hatchet
chilly rain
hot water
real money
rules to despise and rail against
yet in my unconscious heart
embrace as lovers
marmalade
cheddar
and ladies
please
with mighty
milky
knockers
