Title: Midsummer's night

Listen

How I wish
I was a painter
or a photographer at least.
So I could capture
the beauty
of this sun
that will not set.

But a camera
could never catch the smell
of charcoal in the air,
or the sweet scent
of marshmallows
on a bonfire.

Nor could a paintbrush
imitate
the screams
of a dozen seagulls
or the noise
of a people celebrating.

Still,
I wish I was a painter
or a photographer at least.
