Title:
One and a Half Year Reprieve: So Sorry I Left You
I ask you to take my hand
I say please
I beg for you to stay
Yet I leave
Give me one more chance
A reprieve
Of all those hurtful things
You have seen
This was not always me
I used to have a twinkle
A spark you could see
What can I do now
To help you believe
I'm still the same man
You thought I'd always be
It's always assured that we'll lose something
Yet never a promise of gain
Why would we warrant the former
Instead of embracing our pain
Without it we're without eachother
Why should we run from a pearl
It's at the bottom, yet we know it's real
Without you I'm left with the world
A world that leaves me after beating me down
That leaves me in the storm to drown
That takes my hand and leads me astray
With sin's hypnotic sound
A world that laughs at every fall
That grins at every mistake
You're the only one I can truly love
Without weighing the stakes
If you'll let me take your side again
I'll be that "supermann"
With no desire dangling on my skin
Save your soft, angelic hands
I ask you to take my hand
I say please
I'll never leave again
Please believe
Give me one more chance
A reprieve
From all the wrong I've done
Zum miene lieb
