Title: Mothering Sunday

A hectic time for florists
who fashion those bouquets,
preparing for delivery
upon that special day.

Flowers all across the land
to mothers everywhere,
accompanied by greetings cards
conveying love and care.

Some are heartfelt, meaningful,
sent from far away,
others, simply gestures,
purely for display.

Though tended, nurtured, cared for
and pleasing to the eye,
the span of life for flowers is short,
they quickly fade and die
.
Unlike those fleeting bouquets
briefly styled for sending
a Mother’s love will never change
unwavering, unending

So thoughts for her that special day,
expressive and sincere
should stay within the heart and mind
throughout the coming year.
