Title: Pigeons? Doves? Peace?

Why don`t the doves and pigeons
go off and coo elsewhere?
Why don`t they fly to Venice?
and coo in St. Mark`s Square?

Each day when dawn is breaking
we hear their mournful cries
it’s non-stop then `til dusk is here
and evening shades the skies.

And so to sleep but not for long-
first light they start again,
they call from every rooftop
to drive us all insane.

They target individuals
and every car they see,
there’s no discrimination
it’s just a random spree.

A dove flew with an olive branch
to Noah in his Ark
a sparrow hawk in hot pursuit
might well have hit the mark!

So all you doves and pigeons
why don’t you disappear?
or you may find a sparrow hawk
is waiting for you here!
