								 Profile for Ernest Jackson
I have had an interesting and varied life.
Having survived the terrible Liverpool Blitz of 1941 my parents later separated and I lived with my mum in the poverty of a Liverpool tenement slum.  The family were reunited for a short time before our young dad, a proud dock labourer, died suddenly.  The tragic loss was compounded by the fact that he had been the only breadwinner.
By the time I was twenty, having moved from job to job, I was without  education, ambition or means so my future prospects were non-existent.
I was fortuitously without any convictions, most unusual for a youth living in Bootle,  so was able to join the Police Force.
Over the next 27 years I rose through the ranks before retiring to go into business at the age of 50.  My success since then has enabled me to travel the world in luxury.
I have written a book of memoirs which are said to be bizarre. amusing, poignant, romantic and proud.
They have enabled me to discover who, why and what I am.
My book is on www.erniewho.com
